Signs it's time: a loud fan even in the menus, a console that's hot to the touch, an overheating warning, or shutdowns during long sessions. Keep it out in the open, not in a closed cabinet, with a few inches of room around it.
Consoles are warm, and bugs love them. We can't take in devices with signs of insects or droppings; if we spot any at pickup, we'll hand it right back, no charge. Why?

Xbox overheating questions
How much is an Xbox deep clean?
$150, parts and labor: the full clean and new thermal paste on the processor. The diagnostic is free; if we find something else, like a failing fan, we quote it before any paid work.
Why not liquid metal, like on a PS5?
Xbox consoles come with thermal paste from the factory, and a good paste is the right fit for how they're built. We use a high-performance paste that holds up for years.
How often does an Xbox need a deep clean?
Most consoles do fine with one every couple of years; homes with pets, smoke or a lot of dust need it sooner. A loud fan in the menus is the usual first sign.
How long does it take?
Most console repairs take 24 to 48 hours. If a part has to be ordered, we'll tell you when to expect it back before we start.
Will I lose my games and saves?
No. The deep clean doesn't touch the console's storage.
