    Console repair questions

Can you fix a PS5 with no HDMI signal?

Often, yes. No signal usually means a damaged HDMI port or a fault on the board right next to it. We diagnose it for free and quote the repair before any paid work.

How long does a console repair take?

Most console repairs take 24 to 48 hours. If a part has to be ordered, we'll tell you when to expect it back before we start.

    Do you fix controllers?

Yes, including stick drift and buttons that stick or stop responding, on PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch controllers.

Why won't you take a console with bugs in it?

Roaches and other insects love warm electronics, and they can spread to our tools and to other customers' devices. We hand back any device with signs of pests, at no charge. It happens in any home, so no judgment.

    Repair terms, the short version

    • Free diagnostic. You get a quote before any paid work, and owe nothing if you decline. No fix, no pay.
    • Back up your data. Repairs and resets can erase it, and we aren't responsible for data loss.
    • Your unlock code. We may ask you to remove it or share it with us for the repair. A shared code is purged from our system once the repair is complete. Never put it in a form, email or text: we'll ask at pickup.
    • Damage it already has. Opening a device can expose or worsen existing damage (cracks, liquid, swollen batteries, earlier repairs). We aren't responsible for those failures. Liquid-damaged repairs carry no warranty.
    • Payment is due when we return your device. Can't or would rather not pay for a finished repair? We'll take our parts back out and return your device as close as we can to how you gave it to us.
    • 90-day warranty on our parts and work. New drops, cracks and liquid damage aren't covered.
    • Unclaimed devices. Arrange the return within 30 days of our “it's ready” message, or a $5/day storage fee may apply. After 75 days and a final notice, an unclaimed device is considered abandoned and may be recycled or sold once we erase it.
    • Pest-free devices only. We can't accept devices with signs of pests (insects, eggs or droppings). They're returned unrepaired, at no charge.
    • Curbside only. We meet you outside and never enter your home.

    Pest-free devices only

Insects such as roaches sometimes take shelter inside electronics, especially warm ones like game consoles, cable boxes and laptops. It can happen in any home, and it's nothing to be embarrassed about.

    • Why we're strict. Even a single insect or a few eggs can spread to our tools, our workspace and other customers' devices, and contamination can damage repair equipment.
    • Our policy. We don't accept or work on devices with signs of pests: live or dead insects, eggs, droppings or nesting material. They never come into our repair area.
    • What happens. We take a quick look before accepting a device. If we see signs of pests, we hand it right back; if they turn up once it's opened, we close it up and return it unrepaired.
    • No charge. You pay nothing for a device we turn away for this reason.

Once a device has been professionally cleaned and the source treated, we may be able to take it, at our discretion. The policy in our terms (opens in a new tab).
